I’m back! Hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend! We’re putting our tree up this week so I’m looking forward to feeling festive and getting into the Christmas spirit!

Today is a review of another prostaglandin-free lash serum – the NYK1 Lash Force. If you remember my post on Lash Serums 101, you’ll remember why we like prostaglandin-free lash serums! When prostaglandins are added to lash serums, they have the potential to cause the following side effects:

  • Eyelid pigmentation
  • Permanent eye colour change (ongoing use may turn blue eyes brown)
  • Lowering of eye pressure if the serum gets in the eye (it’s a treatment for glaucoma after all!!)
  • If you get the serum anywhere than the lash line you may have hair growth in places you don’t want it

So, for me personally, these aren’t risks I’m willing to take and so I choose to use prostaglandin-free ones, like NYK1 Lash Force Eyelash Growth Serum and UKLASH!

*This post is marked AD/PR because the product was gifted to me by the brand but there was no obligation from them for me to write a review on here or on my Instagram. All my thoughts are my own entirely and I would hope that you would all know that I would only write honest reviews regardless of whether I buy a product myself or whether it’s given to me for free by a brand. I hope this helps you to understand a little bit about what these terms mean when you see them on people’s reviews!

My Experience With It

I was kindly gifted this lash serum to try by the brand back in September and I began using it at the start of October. It arrived at a good time as I had run out of my UKLASH lash serum 2 weeks prior and was in need of a new one. My lashes at this point were also looking a bit sad without a lash serum in their lives!!

I was intrigued by this lash serum as it didn’t contain peptides and I always like peptides in my lash serums. However, I was prepared to give it a go as I had heard so many fellow Instagram friends rave about it!

I began using it nightly from the 6th October and so it’s been 9 weeks since I started using it and let me tell you, I’M IMPRESSED! I really noticed results around the 6 week mark, in terms of length and thickness along the lash line. This continued until the 8 week mark and now the results are just maintained with use twice daily use of the serum.

How To Use It?

It’s advised by the brand to use this lash serum morning and evening. Now I didn’t realise you could use this day and night and was only using it in my evening routine!! Regardless of this, I’ve still had incredible results in just 9 weeks of using it once a night!

I use the serum after cleansing my face and letting it dry. I then apply the lash serum on each eye, along my lash line from inner corner to outer corner and let it dry. Then I move on to my skincare routine, toner, serums, moisturiser etc. I avoid applying any skincare products on my lash line regardless of whether I’m using this lash serum as they get easily irritated.

You don’t need to apply the serum on your lower lash line because when you blink, the product naturally transfers to them.

I experienced zero stinging or irritation, in or around my eyes, during the 9 weeks I’ve been using this product. If anything in comparison to the UKLASH serum, I’ve noticed a slight lessening in redness around my lash line (which I’m prone to), so that’s made me very happy!

Would I Purchase This Product Myself?

Absolutely, 100%! It’s a fabulous lash serum which produces real and amazing results for me. Plus it comes in an 8ml bottle which is just such great value for money (it costs £39.95 currently)! I’ve been using the serum for 9 weeks and I’ve still got loads left in the bottle!

If you would like to try this lash serum yourself, you can purchase it HERE*. Plus if you use the code ‘SKINACIDTRIP10′, you’ll get 10% off the lash serum!

*The link is an affliate link, which doesn’t affect anything for you but it does mean that I get a small commission from the brand if you choose to use my link/code to purchase the lash serum. This helps to support small content creators like myself!

I really hope you enjoyed this review, I loved testing this lash serum out! Have any of you used a lash serum before? Would you consider using one if you haven’t previously? It’s funny because I never believed in the power of lash serums until I tried them for myself!

That’s it for today and I’ll be back with a post about some vitamin C derivatives. Subscribe here to receive email notifications every time I post a new blog!

Hi Samantha, love this review! I recently returned a bottle of Maxeylash after reading horror stories about prostaglandin analogues. My question here is, without sounding like a conspiracy theorist- do you not find this brand a bit suspicious? There are no stand-out active ingredients yet people are experiencing similar growth to serums with prostaglandins. Some reviews also note eyelid darkening which NYK1 attribute to “increased blood flow”- but again we’ve seen this side effect with prostaglandin analogues.

Do you think there’s a chance they could be lying about the ingredients to convince consumers it’s safe?

      Hi Sineade
Whilst this appeals to my inner conspiracy theorist, I really don’t believe that this is something that NYK1 would do. They’re a small family run business who I’ve had a great working relationship with for a number of months and I trust and respect them and their product.
Thanks so much for reading my review and taking the time to comment!
      Best wishes
      Samantha x
